- Like I mentioned in my notes for the pilot episode, there are no reflections in the water. Or rather, there are but they don't match their environment and look displaced from the scene.
- Just to clarify, the maximal symbol looks a bit like a sabre tooth tiger, and the Predacon symbol is an insect head right? If you look carefully at Skorponok's missiles, they have the Maximal symbol stamped on them. I watched ahead and they have a close-up of his missile in the next episode as well, with Maximal insignia. Are his missiles Maximal in origin, or would that just be indicating the missile's recipient?
- They had Cheetor casting a shadow on the ground while he was out running, but the rest of the time the shadow casting is not present.
- Cheetor's dream sequence has him back on Cybertron. The opening to the sequence has a Seeker, clearly marked as a Decepticon, fly past. While this does set the setting, it doesn't quite fit into the current Transformer era where the Transformers have downsized their frames. Unless there are still Seekers on Cybertron. But of course it's a dream - so anything goes.
- The shot of Megatron's head slamming against a wall, his teeth falling out and then sliding down reminds me that this series has a good dose of of Warner Brothers-esque humour.
- During the nightmare part of Cheetor's dream squence, right after Skorponok fires his missile and there' a close-up of Cheetor, we see a very brief shot of Rattrap leaping and slashing at the screen. Very brief - but it's there. At a first glance it's almost as if he's helping the Predacons torment Cheetor. The signifiance of his appearance becomes apparent later on.
- I wonder why Tarantulas' beast mode has pupils in the eyes? Come to think of it, Skorpanok's beast mode has pupils too.
- After Cheetor wakes up, try observing the blue-green apple that Rattrap's eating. From time to time, parts of it go black. Might be a layer ordering problem and one of his claws is showing through it, but they don't look long enough.
- Rattrap finding the secret passage right away was a bit too convenient.
- More on Tarantulas' eyes: When Rattrap comes to the rescue, he calls Tarantuals "eights eyes". Tarantulas actually has 9 eyes in beast mode. Five large eyes in a V shape, and four smaller eyes above it.
- I'm not sure about anyone else, but I do quite enjoy how physical some of the fights appear to be, with small rocks frequently bouncing off the combatants' heads and whatnot.
- Is there a convention as to whether the computer voices are meant to be male or female for any particular faction?
- Rattrap releases Cheetor with the same slashing move he used in the dream sequence.
- "Bigbot". I take it this term is used again to refer to the Optimus in other series after Beast Wars/Machines.
- They say a picture paints a thousand words. So do the subtle or small changes in expressions you see on the faces all through the show. While it was present, you didn't get too much of this in G1.
