Best overall MP source

Postby Astellan11 » Fri Mar 03, 2017 2:17 pm

Hi guys, does anyone know the best source for current MP releases?

Here's the sites and methods I tend to compare to get the best deal.

Considerations are towards prices, shipping costs, time to pre-order, stock availability etc
Is there any local or great international vendors I'm missing?

Zippo tfnz - great price but pre-order lockout dates mean casual buyers without foresight like me miss out (not a diss!)
mohock.co.nz - good price but doesn't get releases for months and low stock levels
premiumcollectables.com.au - amazing price but preorders sell out, low stock levels
gundam.co.nz - high prices and low stock levels, have not shopped here before
mightyape.co.nz - high prices but they try price match premiumcollectables, do not stock everything
vagabond.co.nz - high prices and they don't stock much

tfsource.com - high prices and high shipping costs as an NZ customer
bbts.com - high prices and high shipping costs as an NZ customer

chimungmung.com - prices creeping higher than historically, high shipping costs to nz
actionrobo.com - prices creeping higher than historically, high shipping costs to nz
robotkingdom.com - prices creeping higher than historically, high shipping costs to nz
ehobbybaseshop.com - good prices but shipping has to be manually quoted, can get a good deal

Couple of Japanese options I recommend:

amazon.co.jp - Cheap prices and lightning quick shipping, but whether or not a particular item will ship to NZ can change on a daily basis
hlj.com - Good prices and customer service
anime-export.com - Can preorder stuff for cheap prices, does require upfront payment though

Which ones don't require up front payment on preorders? Isn't it normal to pre pay?

Also in the first lot there is a typo vagabonds.co.nz should be vagabond.co.nz

The big American stores will take preoders with no payments until they complete the order. (BBTS, TFSource)
Hongkong sellers will often do preorders for like $10 then charge the rest on fulfillment of the order.
