Display options in NZ

Postby loismustdye » Fri Apr 19, 2019 10:03 pm

After upgrading to a bigger place I’ve finally again got a room to put my toys in.
So How does everyone display theirs?
Looking for ideas for cabinets or bookshelves that aren’t gonna break the bank yet will display my bots for all to see.
Be keen to see or read how or what everyone displays their toys in and recommends.

I picked up a couple of glass shelves from showcases direct in Auckland. Www.showcasesdirect.co.nz
Thryre about $350 each, size of a bookshelf.

Model ec800. (not show on website)

Really solid and look great. Much better than having them covered in dust

Ouch, the prices for those would pretty much result in a divorce if I was to kit the room out in them, they do look nice and would be ideal, but I would likely be shot :D

https://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/40354042/ would make decent displays

You can get detolfs here but they're about $170-$180 a pop. That's about the best price I've seen to get them in Christchurch anyway, you can probably get them a bit cheaper up north maybe?

Detolf are a good option, however the $60 a pop shipping charge to palmy nullifies that idea.
Although I’m thinking some added shelves using Perspex sheets rather than glass and clamps could add more display space to them.

I'd be keen on seeing how they look. I'm looking at setting up some kind of permanent display as well...

I’d be interested in seein some phots of the modulate stuff as well if you could send some photos.

Last weekend I had 2 detolfs and a billy turn up from the store I mentioned, very happy with both although nothing is in them as of yet as I need to order a bunch more in order to set the room up before fixing them to the walls.
Will definitely be getting some more of the billy cases in the new future, they are fantastic. Think similar to the warehouse etc style flat packs, just taller, better designed and made from far better materials.
