Hey there, all! I've been looking at various TF kitbash sites recently, and there are a LOT of gestalt / combiner team 'bashes being churned out..... some of them absolutely fantastic! One thing I've noticed though, is that although there are tons of Devastators, Menasors, Bruticii and Superions out there, the later combiners teams ain't gettin' much love - in particular, the Seacons. Sure, they're not the easiest team to kitbash, but with the right toys to work from, it'd be quite possible. After pondering it a bit, I would say that if I were to do some Seacon-makeratin', my ideal choices (not that i'm saying I'm GOING to do this, I have neither the skill or the paitence; and I couldn't bring myself to hack apart perfectly good TF's) would be:
1) Nautilator - defintely a heavily-modded Transmetals Tarantulas, standing back to front in alt mode, with his legs turning into the tail (as in the original toy), and a massively modified backpack piece turning into the front half of the lobster, perhaps with Tarantulas's wheel assembly turning into the claws.
2) Tentakill - another Tarans-tarantulas, this time standing up on his tail in alt mode, with his robtot mode arms becoming the squid monsters legs, and the spider legs (obviously) becoming the tentacles.
3) Skalor and overbite - a pair of modded Classics Grimlocks, if we're going for the 'fish with limbs' kick.
4) Snaptrap - a MASSIVELY modified Universe Onslaught. Think about it, it makes sense.
5) Seawing - hmm, tough one, this. The obvious choice, you would think, would be BW Depthcharge - he looks like Seawing, transforms like Seawing, his robot mode arms can become the manta ray's legs, and so on....... but he's too freakin' huge. So either an undersized KO, or a scrathcbuild based on Depthy.
What odes everyone think?
