Sightings - West Auckland

Postby Windbreaker » Fri Dec 16, 2005 11:53 am

I was just wondering, would anyone be interested in a West Auckland sightings thread? Then again, that would mean there are 3 sightings threads just for Auckland

Anyway, sightings of interest (as of yesterday evening):

Westcity Farmers: Alts - 2 Wheeljacks, atleast 1 Shockblast, 1 Tracks, 1 Meister. Cant rememer if they had Windcharger now, but there were definately 2 Wheeljacks, so good news for people looking for him.
No Cybertron Leaders

Toy World: 1 Energon Bulkhead, 1 Energon Landmine

Also no Wreckloose anywhere at West City, my hunt continues. Is he in the same case as Brushgaurd and the Street Speed Minicons or the next case after that?

Sightings at New Lynn as of yesterday:

Classics deluxes are out at Farmers Lynn Mall. Still had multiples of all of them after I'd cleared a set. $25 but come down to $20 with 20% off all toys this weekend. Also still have a stack of Prime/Ricochet wave alts, Cybertron Menasor, Primus and the usual round of Cybertron basics, minicons and LOC. No sign of Wingsaber.

1x Jetfire and 1x Thundercraker at New Lynn Warehouse - No Prime or Megs. Thundercracker had some scratching on his wing which led me to leave him there. Also all 4 of the Star Wars Titaniums and usual Warehouse cybertron stuff. No Happy Well knockoffs either.

Yes, I think a West Auckland thread is in order. I post all my other findings in the other one..

I went into Warehouse New Lynn yesterday and they had

Classics:
- Bumblebee
- Astrotrain
- Starscream
- Hot Rod

They also a classic Optimus, 20th Anniversary. It had a special stand that you could push and would talk out some classic Optimus lines. It was $149.95

I'd found him in my local Toys R Fun as well.

He's in Farmers computer systems, will be $119.99 if he's released before sale ends, although that's unlikely....i'd think around the $150 mark again.

Well went to Warehouse and Farmers Westgate,

They had the classics mentioned above, as well as the Titanium ones.

Also I then went to Farmers West City, had a huge range.

Managed to get Wing Saber and Menasor with 20% off. For both I paid $98 - i'm pretty happy with that.

The brand spankin' new Toyworld megastore at Henderson (just outside the mall) had the SW 30th Anniversary Vader with Coin Album for $29.95. Very tempted to get, but seeing as they had X-Men figures selling for $24.95, I just have to wonder what price other place will have him for...

First wave of the "we couldn't get X3 figures together in time so please buy these weird. mostly non-comic based ones" Toybiz series. They must hve had a case lying about in a warehouse somewhere.

To be fair to Toybiz, the XMC sculpts were excellent only to techy for my liking. Series 3 was best.

No argument there, though you note that wave 3 was almost exclusively comic-design based (might have been completely, I'm just not sure about Avalanche's outfit). I would never fault the excellent sculpting work that the Toybiz team did on those first two waves, but some of the consepts were just a bit off for my liking - Ruby Quartz Armor Cyclops for instance. Just wish that they'd skipped the Stealth Wolverine and gone with his Team X outfit from when he worked with Sabretooth and Maverick.

Still, if nothing else, they crafted some excelently sculpted sidearms that work nicely for customs or arming Cable with something a bit less unweidly than his ride-on cannon. If they had been charging the Farmers clearout price of $5 for each rather than $25, then I would have picked a couple that I don't already have up.
