Here

So, needless to say, it's probably going to turn out like AoE with Bay saying he's involved, but not directing, then half directing, then having full control etc.

What do you think? Personally, I'm disappointed, but not surprised.

I accepted that action TF films will just always be garbage a very long time ago ( at ROTF, so six years ago).

Don't care anymore, we have plenty of excellent fiction outside of those films , the comics in the last few years being fantastic. We also have plenty of great toys not related to those films either

Although I did enjoy the 1st one and the sequence with Blackout transforming was SO awesome I cheered in the theatre the movie franchise was shite anyway. Bay came, saw and munted them....storyline be buggered just give me cool looking TF and a not so shite toyline.

Favourite movie is Seven Samurai. I preface this post with that comment as I about to say the deplorable: I love the live-action movies. Yeah, they're mostly dumb, but I'll be damned if I don't enjoy robots blowing shit up. I'm all for more movies. Would prefer if Bay stayed away from directing and the creative process for a bit of freshness but will take whatever we get.

I will most likely watch it even if it is a bayformer film. I'm not a fan of his films but I am a fan of transformers so even if he was the lead director I still wouldn't mind.

I still remember watching the original 80's movie when I was a kid, and all the kids that I knew that loved transformers were sooooo upset and even to the point of some of them crying, when they found out that Optimus Prime died.

To me I was upset also but I liked the idea of a "turbo revving young punk" taking over the role of the main faction leader that would take them and us into a new generation of robots.

All in all, maybe the whole thing needs an overhaul but honestly I'm happy that I have the chance to share the same childhood with my own children. :D

I'm neither upset nor happy - I just accept whatever news comes out about this franchise. I'll go watch it, there'll be parts I enjoy and (increasingly more) parts I don't and will criticise online.

The idea of some sort of Transformers Shared Universe sounds fun, I'm not sure how they can fund them but let's see.

Blurg, basically.

Id be interested in the shared universe idea, wonder what and who thatd cover?

Wouldnt mind some of the comic style showing that the cons arent necessarily bad side of things. A full fledged dinobot one would be great, especially if they were cgi but had their g1 personalities

Not that I care to much to be honest with this expanded univurse thing I hope we see a tv series I always though a show called nwst would work well or what I really want is this franchise to be integrated into marvels current universe

Hopefully some other director/producer/writer will redo the movie franchise in a few years with something more than just explosions and an actually half decent story line. More akin to what Chris Nolan did with the Batman films.

Every time a new Bay movie is announced, this dream is put back ten years. :(
