Well, it looks like Red Square and the Sears Tower are the next global landmarks facing swift and explosive destruction at the hands of Michael Bay and his enormous robot troops, with the news that Transformers 3 is set to film in Moscow and Chicago.

The sequel, which is set for July 2011, starts shooting in May, with Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf returning to play the hapless humans running away from rampaging robots (probably carrying a Macguffin) and Ehren Kruger writing the script (not joined this time by original screenwriters Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman). Bay has previously promised that this one will not go for more and bigger explosions, instead delving into the Transformers' mythos and becoming "darker". We'd still bet Grandma on there being a fair whack of destruction though, so remember that "fewer explosions" is relative.

Hmmmmm, wonder what this might really mean, seeing as the second one was supposed to have alot more character development.

All they need to do to make me happy is to turn a typhoon class sub into a Decepticon. The rest will be mindless dribble

Could be promising. After ROTF, I have no hopes left to get up anyway. Maybe the toys will be better!

See, I really hope they go the opposite route. Unicron would be pretty awful, since there's nothing they can do to top that. Metroplex or Trypticon, definitely, that'd be a fantastic spectacle. But what's to do after Unicron?

We still haven't had proper gestalts fighting either, that's something that needs to be filmed.

your right i see your point about unicron (save the best till last)

metroplex would be cool and like i said they have been on earth for a while now so a home of operations is needed they can't always leach of the humans

also yeah chuck in some gestalts fighting to the death because optimus prime can't take all the credit for all the fight scenes

or maybe they need to go to cybertron for lunch or something and they can go for a ride on omegasupreme

Gestalts, or even Sky Lynx or an Omega Supreme I'd look forward to, I'm not too keen on the idea of a Bayafied Metroplex / Fortmax ect. A triple or quadruple changer could be successful.

To be quite honest, I hope they do make a (proper) triple/quadruple changer, where each mode is noticeably different, unlike ROTF Rampage and Soundwave (of which both toys I like).

Or Hasbro would make two toys - one that transforms from robot to mode 1, and one of mode 2 that doesn't transform at all.

Because accuracy is more important than play value, kids!

Think about the eye candy of an actual city rising up and ripping apart to form a giant robot. Subria suggested Trypticon emerge from the slums of Mumbai, I've been fascinated with that idea ever since.

ok im sold on that now as well. That would be epic... all the streets ripping apart, buildings falling over but not.
Dunno about a slum city bot though.... you'd just give a good kick and it'd fall apart
How about Hong Kong turning into Scorpinok?
