Transformers: Universe figures hitting New Zealand shelves

It appears that the first sighting of Transformers Universe figures has occured in New Zealand. TFNZ member green dragoon spotted the Universe Legends Starscream, Onslaught and Red Alert figures at his local K-Mart store. In addition to this, in the latest Warehouse mailer, a listing for "Universe Deluxe Figures" is seen, although it depcits a Movie figure, it may be that the Warehouse is simply selling both Universe deluxes and Movie deluxes under one price-tag. Expect to see these figures appearing on shelves soon. And don't forget that all major toy retailers have current school-holiday sales, with most having good discounts on Transformers figures. Reports of Wave 2 Animated in Farmers stores have also surfaced, so for those after Ratchet and Blackarachnia are in luck!

Transformers Animated Figures released in New Zealand

The latest series of Transformers figures have begun to hit New Zealand toy shelves. Waves 1 and 2 of Transformers Animated deluxes have now been released across the country in Farmers, The Warehouse and Toyworld/Toys R Fun stores. As well as the deluxes, Wave 1 of the Animated Voyagers have been released, and the Megatron/Optimus Prime 2-pack exclusive figures.

Transformers Animated to air on New Zealand television

We have learnt that the highly anticipiated Transformers Animated television series will air in New Zealand in 2008, on TV3. As of yet we have no set time for it's screening but it is assumed to be showing between 3pm and 4:30 during Sticky TV. We will update this when more information comes to hand.

Transformers released on DVD tomorrow!

Just a reminder to all trans-fans that tomorrow, November 1st, the Transformers live-action film that had broken many Hollywood, and DVD records will be released on our shores. There are four versions of the DVD available. A single disc, double disc as well as two limited editions: A single-disc edition in a steel-tin case and the double disc edition in a 'transforming' case. If you're after one of these exclusive cases you're best bet it to get in stores early, as there are very limited stocks available. Be sure to head to the TFNZ forums to continue discussion on the film, and the special features included.

Encore Transformers at Vagabands Auckland

If you happen to live in Auckland, you may wish to check out the Vagabonds store, we've recieved reports from TFNZ members Jon Kay and nik27 that they have the first wave of TakaraTomy's "Encore" series - Reissue figures of G1 Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream and Soundwave (wtih Buzzsaw). The prices are reportedly less than expected, So, if reissue Soundwave has wet your appetitie and you're in Auckland, here's your chance to pick up some more classic Transformers, in their G1 glory.

Reissue Soundwave released exclusively

For those of you after a bit of nostalgia, Reissue Soundwave has been released exclusively to Toyworld and Toys R Fun stores across the country. Prices are varying from store to store but the average amount is $60 for Soundwave, who also comes with Laserbeak and Ravage. There are reportedly only 184 Soundwaves in the country too, so get in quick! Also, just as a friendly reminder, please don't be a scalper and buy up a stores whole set of Soundwave, so you can sell for a premium on Trademe. We want these Soundwaves to go to both collectors and kids - everyone is entitled to a fair chance to obtian this figure.

Movie figures officially out

Tomorrow is the official street date for the Transformers movie figures, although some stores have released figures early, all stores will be allowed to sell this figures as of June 2. Many stores have stocked today, as most of the merchandisers/replenishers do not work weekends. You will be able to find Deluxe, Voyager, Leader, Robot Heroes, Real Gear, Unleashed, Fast Action Battlers, Role Play figures, as well as Optimash Prime in the coming days.
